Celebrating World Rose Day at Kiwi House

Residents at Kiwi House recently enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of gardening, quizzes and plenty of tea as we celebrated World Rose Day.

Gardening is just one of the activities residents can enjoy as part of our varied programme, with activities designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The World Rose Day celebrations gave residents the opportunity to get involved at their own pace, whether planting roses, joining the quiz or simply enjoying time together.

Residents planted a rose for each floor of Kiwi House, which will add colour and fragrance to our garden and balcony areas. The group then put their knowledge to the test with a rose-themed quiz, discovering interesting facts about different varieties and what the various colours of roses traditionally represent.

Over a cup of rose and hibiscus tea, residents shared their favourite roses and talked about memories of flowers and gardens from throughout their lives. These conversations are an important part of activities at Kiwi House, helping residents connect with familiar interests and experiences while spending time with others.

Find out more about the activities and entertainment available to our residents by contacting the team, or keep in the loop with our Facebook page.
